History

1989

Incorporation of FRIBASA and launch of the EROSKI/FRIBASA partnership.
Location: Basauri (Bizkaia, Spain).
Surface area: 1,036 m2.
5 ripening chambers with a capacity for 100 tn.
2 packaging lines.

2001

First steps in the expansion project designed to cover EROSKI’s North zone.

2007

Opening of the plant in Orozko for providing EROSKI with a nationwide service.
Location: Orozko (Bizkaia, Spain).
Surface area: 5,050 m2.
20 ripening chambers.
3 packaging lines.
Ripening capacity of 40,000 tn/year.

2010

Award of Certificates:
Aenor ISO 9001.
Aenor ISO 14001.
IFS Food Safety Standard.

2013

Creation of the Costa Volcán brand.

2014

Incorporation of NORTE TROPICALES, S.L. Supplier/Importer of tropical fruits. DEL MONTE panellist.

2015

Certified to the ES-ECO-026-VAS code by the Basque Council for Ecological Foodstuffs and Agriculture (ENEEK).

2016

Opening of the new 4th range plant.
FRIBASA embarks upon an ambitious expansion project for the production of 4th range fruit, juices and sliced fruits.
Surface area: 1,282 m2.
2 ripening chambers with a capacity for 100 tn.
